The First Ladies of the United States tend to have an unspoken civility and sisterhood that appears very obvious when there is a presidential campaign. This was very evident when Michelle Obama was interviewed in The Late Show where she stated that she has no sympathy for the spouse of the opposing candidate. It is a no-subtle-dig at Melania, Donald Trump’s wife. One of Michelle’s passionate remarks includes calling Donald Trump erratic and threatening without mentioning his name.

People cannot blame Michelle because Donald Trump has always pushed the lie that President Obama was not born in the United States. For the past eight years, Trump has said that Obama was not a legitimate president. However, last week Trump finally acknowledged that President Obama was born in the United States. According to Michelle, reasoned criticisms against the president are fine but not personal attacks. She will always find a way to let people know of her views of the matter.

It is interesting to note that there is closer relationship between Michelle and Laura Bush because they are less political than Hilary Clinton. However, Michelle and the president are devoting themselves to getting Hilary elected. Michelle would probably have a little more empathy for the other candidate’s spouse if she was not the wife of Donald Trump.
