The Oscars are a big thing. From the average TV patron to the big names in the acting industry, to even political figures, like former US president Barrack Obama (who even spoke up regarding the diversity issues of the past year’s Oscars), are keeping an eye on it to see who’ll win. With the musical La La Land receiving 14 nominations, it seems likely that it will reign supreme in this year’s Oscars. Nevertheless, it seems Arrival and Moonlight are hoping to steal the honour of the Best Picture award from the musical.

This year’s Oscars will be held in Los Angeles, at the Dolby Theatre, starting Sunday, late evening. The musical La La Land has held the honour of being nominated for 14 awards, including Best Picture and Best Director. The sheer number of nominations the film has garnered is record breaking, with the only films having the same amount of nominations being the 1950’s drama All About Eve, and the James Cameron classic Titanic.
For anyone staying in their sukhumvit 11 hotels, or are anywhere close to Sukhumvit, it seems that there will be one more possible destination to add to your travel list.
